The Company is a freight operator which offers transportation services on Dry Bulk vessel from Supramax to Cape size. The company manages a fleet of more than 150 vessels and transports 120 million tons of cargo per year.

Geneva Branch is offering a position of Junior Vessel Operator Bulk Carrier

The successful candidate will be trained to our full shipping operation process, in order to be able to manage the end-to-end voyage and time-chartered vessels efficiently and maximise profits. He/she also may be required to show initiative and motivation.

At then end of the training, the core functions of this role will be:

•         Scheduling, commencing and managing fixtures in the internal trade capture system
•         Voyage planning, preparing and sending detailed TC/VC instructions
•         Appointing agents and arranging disbursement payments
•         Approving and processing cargo documents i.e. BLs / switch BL procedures
•         Bunker planning; potentially bunker procurement
•         Freight invoicing; occasionally TCE calculations
•         Laytime calculation and negotiation
•         Monitoring vessels movement and performance
•         Assisting the finance department to compile regular evaluations of voyages in progress

and monitoring the changes affecting the P&L

•         Setup, maintain and manage all department/fleet operational records, files

and databases.

The candidate will be required to maintain vessel status updates, partner closely with the Chartering department, clients, outside vendors, and shipboard staff.

The role would suit somebody who fluently speaks English, who has small experience of working in a shipping environment, or who has recently successfully finished a well-known Shipping University.
